Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, today announces Ashley Cuttino has been named office managing shareholder for the firm’s Greenville office. With Ashley’s new role, women now comprise more than a third (39 percent) of office leadership.
As Greenville’s office managing shareholder, Ashley Cuttino succeeds Phillip Kilgore as office managing shareholder in Greenville. Phillip has been in the practice of litigation and labor and employment law in the Greenville office of Ogletree Deakins since 1986 and returns to his litigation practice where he represents clients in state and federal courts and administrative tribunals.
In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, Ashley has led Ogletree Deakins’ nationwide unemployment response team. In this role, Ashley tracks unemployment changes nationwide and provides counsel to clients on unemployment related issues. In addition, Ashley is the co-chair of the Ogletree Deakins COVID-19 Litigation Practice Group. As co-chair, Ashley has been able to utilize her substantial past litigation experience that includes employment litigation, personal injury litigation, medical malpractice defense, and complex toxic tort defense.
Outside of COVID-19, Ashley represents and counsels companies on a wide range of labor and employment law issues—though a significant focus of her practice is on various state leave laws (counseling and litigation) and multi-state compliance. Ashley is a member of the OD Comply compliance solutions group and the shareholder–author of the OD: Comply: State Leave Law subscription materials.
Ashley is actively involved in raising the profile of women in her own firm, in the legal community, and in her local community. She is the former Chair of the Ogletree Deakins’ Women’s Initiative (ODWIN) and remains on the steering committee. In addition, Ashley is immediate former President of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association and is a 2022 member of the Greenville Chamber Board of Directors. Ashley has been named to the Best Lawyers in America® list for five consecutive years and is a fellow of the American Bar Association. She earned her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
