Joshua Trout has been named CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Greenville, Encompass Health’s future inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Greenville, South Carolina. The 40-bed hospital, which is under construction on the corner of Laurens Road and Dallas Road, is expected to begin caring for patients in July of 2021.
As CEO, Trout is responsible for overseeing the hospital’s day-to-day operations as well as patient care and quality. Once open, the hospital will provide 24-hour nursing care and physical, occupational and speech therapies to patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries including strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions.
While he has devoted his entire career to the healthcare industry, Trout has spent the last seven years leading teams in the post-acute healthcare sector. Most recently, he served as CEO of a 31-bed long‑term acute care hospital in Pennsylvania. Earlier in his career, Trout served as an emergency medical technician. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management: health and wellness from California University of Pennsylvania as well as a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Ohio University. In addition, he is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
“We are thrilled to have an enthusiastic leader like Josh managing this new hospital and the great team to come,” said Linda Wilder, regional president of Encompass Health’s South Atlantic region. “Josh is very knowledgeable and skilled in post-acute care operations; and most importantly, he also shares our company’s commitment to providing our patients with exceptional care that makes a meaningful difference in their lives.”
