Ken Harper, Chief Operating Officer for Countybank, and Danielle Cox, Teller for Countybank, recently presented a check for $10,615 to Lee Anne Scales, Vice President of Corporate Giving for United Way of Greenville County. A $10,000 portion of the donation was given on behalf of the Countybank Foundation, which was established in 1971 and represents Countybank and Greenwood Capital. The remaining $615 represents 2020 Casual for a Cause donations from Countybank and Greenwood Capital associates.
“We are so appreciative of the generous personal pledges of CountyBank and Greenwood Capital’s associates, as well as the corporate gift from the Countybank Foundation,” said Scales. “Countybank and Greenwood Capital are such strong supporters of United Way, and we are grateful for their partnership.”
“We are honored to be a part of United Way’s mission to ensure all people have access to the opportunities to achieve their full potential,” said Brian L. Disher, Director of Wealth Management for Greenwood Capital.
The donation will support United Way’s work in Greenville County, which includes strategic investments in education, financial stability, and vibrant and equitable community initiatives designed to improve the economic mobility of individuals and families in our community.
In addition to the Countybank Foundation donation, Countybank and Greenwood Capital hold an annual campaign that gives associates the opportunity to support the community with United Way of Greenville County. The organizations also host a monthly “Casual for a Cause” fundraiser, where associates can dress business casual the first Friday of each month in exchange for a donation to United Way.
“Partnering with United Way of Greenville County allows our associates to be involved and invested in how we as an organization give back to our community,” said Harper, who also serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of Greenville County. “United Way has such a positive impact across the Greenville area, and we’re proud to support that effort.”
