AC Hotel by Marriott Greenville Downtown to manage Camperdown Plaza and activate the community space with special programming and events led by Meadors
Auro Hotels announced the appointment of Heather Meadors as director of community relations of AC Hotel @Camperdown. The new AC Hotel by Marriott Greenville Downtown will manage Camperdown Plaza, and in her role, Meadors will lead the Camperdown Plaza team and work with community partners to establish the plaza as a vibrant downtown destination for engaging year-round events, entertainment and programming. AC Hotel Greenville Downtown opened on Camperdown Plaza February 22 and beginning in April, the city can look forward to a steady stream of safely held plaza events including concerts, movies, fitness classes, art exhibits and performances, holiday celebrations, pop up shops and much more.
“We are thrilled to have Heather on our team,” said John Deck, general manager of the AC Hotel Greenville Downtown. “Her long history of meaningful community engagement and the many exciting ideas she is bringing to the table for Camperdown Plaza promise to elevate Greenville’s beloved downtown experience.”
Meadors comes to this role from Elliott Davis where she served as director of community relations. Prior to that, Meadors served as director of community relations for Auro Hotels where she was responsible for implementing and managing community relations projects that met the company’s mission. This included representing Auro Hotels in the community to communicate its core mission of O.N.E. – Outreach, Nurture, Encourage and spearheading outreach efforts such as the planning of volunteer opportunities for associates, as well as planning and executing events for the company.
“I look forward to helping make Camperdown Plaza a coveted destination for locals and visitors,” said Meadors. “The beautiful space offers the city a fresh approach to outdoor events and entertainment, and we plan to bring experiences to the plaza that Greenville has never seen before.”
