All Clear celebrates five years

All Clear Plumbing celebrated the fifth anniversary of its innovative apprenticeship program with a graduation on Wednesday.

Ken Dodd, Kevin Baesman, and Paul Smith are the most recent group of apprentices to graduate in the half decade since All Clear started the program, said Anja Smith, the company’s managing partner. It has three more active program participants and is about to hire another.

All Clear Plumbing worked with both Apprenticeship Carolina and the US Department of Labor to create its four-year apprenticeship program. During the program, apprentices participate in online classes that are used by plumbers nationwide, and also get on-the-job experience. Once they have completed the program, the apprentices take the Journeyman’s Test to receive their plumber’s license. All Clear Plumbing is one of the only companies in South Carolina to institute a certified apprenticeship program in order to train their plumbers.

“The apprenticeship program is our best tool for recruiting talent and growing the company in a sustainable way,” Smith said. “It only feels right that we celebrate the five year anniversary of such an important part of our company with a graduation.”
